BaltSpace: BONUS proposal on maritime spatial planning favourably evaluated

A proposal for a new BONUS project aiming at providing science-based approaches and tools to clarify and improve the capacity of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) as an integrator has now been positively evaluated and will thus proceed to negotiations on conditions of the Grant Agreement. MSP aspires to be a horizontal policy integrator delivering Blue Growth while at the same time achieving environmental policy targets.

The proposal called "BaltSpace – Towards Sustainable Governance of Baltic Marine Space" had been submitted with the active involvement of s.Pro and its SUBMARINER Network partners the Coastal Research and Planning Institute (Lithuania) and Maritime Institute in Gdańsk (Poland), with project activities set to begin in early 2015. The consortium is coordinated by Södertörn University (Sweden).
